"Cayman Castle"
(see before photos) is located in the East End of Grand Cayman Island
and often enjoys a trade
wind breeze (no bugs), which make it unnecessary to screen in the
oceanfront spaces. While we can have "dead calm" days, they are rare.
The breeze averages only 5-10mph-- so it isn't like the (usual) north shore of Maui!
The architectural focal points of the villa are the
infinity-edge pool, balcony, multi-level oceanfront stone patios, curved retaining walls and a commanding
panoramic
view over the East End Reef.
This home is all about the outdoors (why you come to Cayman)--The second floor offers a very large (1,000 sq. ft.) family room/TV Area/kitchen and private 600 sq. ft.
roofed balcony
with panoramic views (see
aerial photos).
Heavy (coral white) cast railings (42" tall) on the terraces/decks for safety.
Crimson bougainvillea
in the planters make a nice contrast against the sage green stucco exterior.
Three large oceanfront patios (on the rock point below the infinity pool) for sunbathing,
weddings, massage table location or band set-up.
The 2BR Castle Guesthouse, located 80 feet from castle to the North,
matches the Castle in architectural style, furnishing and quality. It has a
private cliff-edge pool, roofed patio and irrigated zoysia lawn & privacy wall between it and the Castle. A/C,
laundry, kitchen, Plasma (satellite) TV, DVD, ceiling fans, Charcoal BBQ etc. Guesthouse guests can enjoy
the Castle beach by walking around the masonry
wall at the driveway. The shoreline below
the Castle Guesthouse is rocky "iron-shore" and some sand. Guesthouse also
has overflow parking spaces for 6-8 cars for large groups/weddings when rented with
the Castle. We have (3) thatched palapas on the beach as well as kayaks and sand
chairs.
Like the other rental villas in Cayman Kai, Northside &
Rum Point, we are about 19-20 miles (35-45 minutes) due East of the Airport.
The "Wreck of the 10 Sails" monument/park and the Royal Cayman Police
Constable's residence are directly next door (500' of government land
that will never be developed). To the south, the
Castle is only 250 yds. from the best dive operator on the island,
Ocean
Frontiers . Vivine's Backyard
(great casual lunch, Cayman Islands Style-150 yds. North) and Arlain's Restaurant
to the South (250 yds). We are also just 1.5 miles South of Portofino's
restaurant (Best in East End). The East
End of the island also has restaurants at both the
Morritt's Tortuga Club
and The Reef
timeshare/resort.
The Lighthouse
restaurant is only
10 minutes away by car. Finally, Roland's Garden is only a 10 minute
drive- where there are no menus, no bill (you pay him what you think is right)
and you bring your own wine/beer (reservations required). It is a campy,
umbrella table dinner in a retired chef's front-yard garden--that you will never forget
(recommended).
Cayman
Castle:
- (4) Large Master Suites. 6 Beds total ( 2 kings, 2 queens and one set of bunk-beds,
queen sleeper sofa as well as a full sofa bed in the 1st floor "Family
Suite"). Each bedroom has its own
private bathroom. Oversized tiled/glass block showers and granite counters/shower
thresholds
throughout all bathrooms. Solid wood bedroom doors and low profile ceiling
fans.

- 1,500 ft ² (partially) covered 1st floor Terrace &
freshwater pool and large paved sun deck overlooking the ocean.
Large paved patios on the point of land in front of the Castle.
- Stunning (heated Dec 15- Apr 15) pool offers "infinity-edge" . Safety features for pool (lifesaving pole,
throw-ring, safety railings, etc.) One step off our driveway is
250' of sandy beach (rocky in cove) Poolside outdoor shower with
hot & cold water.
- (3) Thatched palapas on the beach for guests
of both Castle & Guesthouse to use with strap loungers and sand chairs as well.
- Large charcoal grill w/ cover behind parking area wall.
- Large (second floor) Roofed
Balcony with teak 10 - 12 person dining table and
sun-chairs/coffee table facing the ocean. 42" high balusters/rail for
safety.

- 25' x 50' (Semi-circular) Great Room with panoramic views over
pool & patios through 4 sets of double French doors. Fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, living room
and TV area. Ceramic tile and granite throughout house.

- Bed linens (2 sets per bed), plenty of pillows &
bath towels provided.
Beach towels provided. Two portable cribs & strap-on
highchairs/boosters in bunkroom on first floor (we have them--but suggest you bring your own crib
linens-detergent allergies).

- 4-Zone Central air conditioning and ceiling fans. We are on
"City Water" (reverse osmosis-very pure), so we have no cistern or water pump (many homes
still catch rainwater in a cistern for drinking).
No water cooler is necessary.
- Large (stand alone) icemaker in kitchen island, (2 each) front-loading Duet Washers/Dryers,
Bosch (quiet)
Dishwasher, large stainless steel refrigerator & Microwave.

- Small refrigerator under
the bar on first floor for easy pool-level access to
drinks.

- Sectional
sofas,
chairs/chaises/benches on pool terrace/deck. Strap sand chairs & loungers on the beach.

- TV (42" LCD) on 2nd floor, (3)
DVD/VCR Players, CD/Stereo,
board games, a few DVDs (bring your favorites). Master suites on first & third floors also
have LCD Flat-screen TVs with DVD players (no satellite receivers--just
for movies/games).

- Third floor Master (Honeymoon) suite has a private dining table/desk in the north
turret, power & telephone for a work station--for
those who feel the need to stay in touch with the office while admiring the
view!
- Telephones (1 wired, 4
Wireless), w/ answering machine. Castle also has fulltime DSL modem
(free). Wireless (Castle & Guesthouse--no wep encryption).

- Strict Maximum number of
persons= 10. No more than 8 adults (18yrs. +) per Minister of Tourism license
for the 4BR Castle itself. 6 more people can sleep (4 adults max) in 2BR
Castle Guesthouse.

- Maid service provided before and after your stay
as well as one time mid-week. Daily
maid service can be arranged. Cooks/Nannies available for private hire. We also put
you in touch with a concierge service

Castle
Guesthouse:
- Air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a covered front porch. Colorful
Caribbean-style furniture and tiled floors throughout. Teak dining table and 4 chairs.

- (1) King suite and (1) Queen suite with 2 (twin) bunk beds. Each
suite has a private bathroom with tiled glass block shower and plenty of
towels. Sectional sofa in great room, teak Adirondack chairs, teak lounge chaises and coffee table on
deck. Writing desk in King Master. Both suites also have a pair of heavy
teak planters chairs.
- Guesthouse pool and oceanfront deck face due East, while Castle's pool/decks face due
South; providing sunbathing privacy for guests of both residences.
Landscaped masonry privacy wall (new) also separates the Castle from the Guesthouse. Pools are
100+ feet apart. Roofed Patio provides plenty of shade for guests.
- French doors and open
architecture allow the trade-winds to cool the house on days when
air-conditioning isn't a necessity.
- Guesthouse is perched 25 feet above sea level (and 150'+ from road)
which enhances both privacy and the view of the ocean, while providing
protection from storms.
- Fixed charcoal BBQ at edge of driveway.
- 2 phones, washer/dryer, Satellite TV, DVD/VCR & stereo, full kitchen with refrigerator,
range, microwave, dishwasher & full compliment of pots/pans/cutlery/etc.
- Bath Towels, Pool towels and all linens provided. Some DVD's from
Castle collection end up over here as well.
